It seems that every parent I speak to at the moment is focused on the schooling of their kids. In the Netherlands its the time of year when your 12 year old teenager gets a place at the middelbaar school (junior high inUSA, and senior school inUK). The worry is whether your teenager will get in to the “best” school for them, or if they have to go to their second choice school. Continue reading

Lets both win: in the last post lets trade – we talked about lingering resentment when you concede too much within a negotiating situation. Where does this feeling come from? Basically from the believe that the result is finite, you are negotiating for a “slice of cake” and you feel your opposite number wins a bigger slice than you do. Are you a Yes (wo)man?
The overconfident communicator described in the previous post can only be successful if there is someone who cooperates fully with them. Being cooperative is a very valuable skill, work tasks run smoothly and relationships are harmonious.
