If at first you don’t succeed..

sweet 15Today is the first day of spring, the spring equinox, and my daugthers 15th birthday! We  were up in time to give her presents this morning before she set off to school, and, for the first time in fifteen years, I have successfully produced a birthday cake in time for her homecoming.

As I look back it seems impossible that I could have failed so spectacularly for so many years, but ever since her first birthday party, when she burned her finger on her sole candle as we sung “lang zal ze leven”, I have been unable to produce a decent cake. Continue reading

Seasons, cycles and changing times

seasons cycles and changing timesYesterday I had a meeting with a client about the new facebook timeline for Fanpages, introduced on February 29th, and going live on March 30th. With deadlines like that, its not easy to help people keep their business on track and build a cohesive social media strategy. but nevertheless we had a sucessful session, and together discovered some great benefits which could be applied to his business.

It does seem, however, that time races on, and I feel I am constantly adapting to new ideas, new ways and new technology. As I was driving home, through the Dutch countryside I was reminded of why I love my life. Standing in a waterlogged meadow were four Spoonbills.
